Psychiatry Services
At Find Your Strength, we provide specialized psychiatric care for individuals aged 21 and under. Our services are designed to address a wide range of mental health concerns affecting youth, offering comprehensive assessments and tailored care. With a focus on quality, collaboration, and accessibility, we ensure that each step of the process supports the mental well-being of our clients.

We are dedicated to providing clients with the psychiatric care they need to overcome challenges and achieve their mental health goals. Through expert assessments, a collaborative approach with caregivers, and coordination with family physicians, we offer a supportive and comprehensive service tailored to each individual’s needs.

One-Time Psychiatric Consultation

Our psychiatrist offers one-time consultations to assess and provide expert insights into various mental health concerns. These evaluations help determine the challenges a young person is facing and offer recommendations for further care. Whether you’re seeking clarity on a mental health diagnosis or guidance on treatment options, our consultations provide a valuable resource.

ADHD Assessment

We provide specialized ADHD assessments for individuals showing signs of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). These thorough assessments, conducted by our psychiatrist, involve gathering essential collateral information from caregivers to provide a complete and accurate diagnosis. There is a charge of $700 for ADHD assessments. Please check with your insurance provider, as a portion of this fee may be claimable under your coverage.

Specialization in Key Mental Health Concerns
Our psychiatrist specializes in diagnosing and providing care recommendations for a range of mental health conditions, including:
• Depression
• Anxiety & Social Anxiety
• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
• Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Our assessments focus on providing the most accurate diagnosis and recommending appropriate therapeutic options. Each individual’s unique needs are carefully considered to ensure the best possible care.
Caregiver Involvement and Consent
For optimal care, we require caregiver involvement. The psychiatrist needs consent to speak with a caregiver to gather important collateral information, which is an essential part of the assessment process. Caregivers may also join the assessment when necessary, and their contact information must be provided prior to the appointment. This collaborative approach ensures that the patient’s well-being is addressed holistically.
Ongoing Care Coordination
All patients must have a family physician to manage ongoing care after their psychiatric assessment. While our services focus on providing expert evaluations and initial care recommendations, ongoing treatment and follow-up will be coordinated with the patient’s family physician or healthcare provider.
Pre-Assessment Intake and Social Worker Session
Before each psychiatric appointment, patients are required to complete an intake questionnaire and history. To assist with this process, a scheduled session with one of our social workers will be arranged prior to the psychiatric appointment. This ensures that the psychiatrist has a full understanding of the patient’s medical and mental health background, providing the foundation for an effective assessment.
Virtual Assessments
All psychiatric assessments are conducted virtually, offering convenience and accessibility for our clients. We maintain the same level of professionalism and confidentiality as in-person appointments, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for our patients
Appointment Policies and Fees
To provide an efficient and respectful service to all clients, the following policies apply:
• No-Show Policy: A fee of $200 will be charged for missed appointments if less than 24 hours’ notice is provided. This fee will be charged to the credit card on file.
• Late Arrivals: If a patient arrives more than 15 minutes late for their scheduled appointment, the session will not be started, and the no-show fee will apply.
Referral Requirements
All clients must provide a written referral from their family physician or nurse practitioner for psychiatric assessments. Additionally, a valid, non-expired OHIP health card number must be provided at the time of the appointment.
